Looking Back at 2024: A Remarkable Year for BroadbandEU
The year 2024 marked a milestone in the history of BroadbandEU. We are proud to have been named the first official Starlink Authorized Reseller in the Netherlands. This prestigious partnership not only confirms our expertise in the telecom sector but also underscores our vision for the future of connectivity. Although the Netherlands is already well-equipped with fiber optics and high-speed internet, we strongly believe in the potential of Starlink for both domestic and international markets.

The satellite internet network developed by SpaceX is designed to provide internet access in places where traditional infrastructure falls short. Think of remote areas, ships, airplanes, and even regions where economic or geographical conditions make high-speed broadband connections impossible.
In the Netherlands, we see a growing interest in Starlink as a solution for flexible, mobile internet applications. However, the majority of our Starlink sales this year were abroad. We proudly supplied units to customers in Norway, France, Germany, Spain, and Greece. These countries stand out for their need for reliable connections in remote areas or specific sectors such as tourism and the maritime industry.
A Close Relationship with Starlink
Our collaboration with Starlink is more than a business partnership—it’s a shared mission to connect the world. Thanks to our close ties with the Starlink team, we stay up to date on the latest developments and innovations. The future looks promising, particularly with the planned expansion of the satellite constellation. Currently, the network consists of around 7,000 satellites, but this number will grow to over 30,000 satellites in the coming years. This expansion will not only increase coverage but also improve speed and latency, which are essential for applications like online gaming, video conferencing, and smart agriculture.
In addition, significant design improvements are being made to the satellites, enabling even more efficient and faster data processing. We look forward to sharing these innovations with our customers and helping them leverage the latest technologies.
Direct to Cell: The Next Revolution
